HighFalutin Dance Theater creates irreverent contemporary dance. HFDT gathers the castoffs of dance culture (differing bodies, transparently collaborative practices, and a queer female perspective) and pulls them to the center. HighFalutin is rooted in community - too often dancers are replaced or rejected due to image or age. We embrace that which is said to make us weaker -- collaboration, connection, difference, empathy, discussion. Out of this comes relevant, transformative, and powerful dance.
